The Veldensteiner Forrest Nature Park is hiker’s, Nordic walker’s and jogger’s paradise. You can rent a bicycle at the hotel to take wonderful cycling tours.

If you prefer to play golf, you can reach the "Platzreife" (license to play German golf courses) on one of the four nearby golf courses (5 - 25 km). We also offer a playground for children, table tennis, pool billiards and table football.

Starting in Bernheck, you can reach many well-known excursion destinations in a short time like Nuremberg, Bamberg, Bayreuth or just Goessweinstein which is famous for the “Wallfahrtsbasilika” (pilgrimage basilica) because of cultural reasons.

Furthermore, you can do the following recreational activities: Horse-drawn carriage ride, riding, fishing, climbing, canoeing or alpine slide in Pottenstein.

If you are an animal lover then you can enjoy the "Hufeisen" wildlife enclosure, just located a few kilometers away. There you can observe wildlife in their natural environment.

The Franconian Switzerland is also known as the land of castles and caves, e.g. the "Teufelshöhle" in Pottenstein, the "Maximiliansgrotte" in Krottensee, the "Binghöhle" in Streitberg, the Veldenstein Castle in Neuhaus, the Rabeneck Castle and the Greifenstein Castle.

If you are a winter sports enthusiasts, cross-country skiing trails start directly in front of the hotel. The ski lift in Spiess (7 km away) is easy to reach for downhill skiers. Alternatively, the ice stadium in Pegnitz is only a few kilometers away.
