Where today the Hotel Veldensteiner Forst welcomes guests from near and far, the story began with a small beer tavern in 1952.
At that time, Andreas and Margarete Schuster laid the foundation stone in Bernheck, a quiet village on the edge of the Veldensteiner Forest Nature Park, for the hotel that has grown over three generations.
In 1964, their son Hans Schuster and his wife Irmgard fulfilled their dream of continuing the family business – and turned it into a heartfelt inn. Since 2010, Josef Schuster and his family have been running the hotel – with the same standards as before: genuine hospitality, warm camaraderie, and a deep connection to the region.
A glance into the future shows that the next generation is already waiting in the wings. Junior manager Leon brings a breath of fresh air and a passion for cuisine.
He is currently preparing to lead the business into a delicious future for the next generation – with the same values that have always characterized the hotel.
Our roots go back a long way – and that is precisely what makes our role as hosts so special today: we want you to not only feel welcome here, but also at home. In a hotel that breathes history, is family-run, and is located in an environment that offers peace and quiet.
